29.03.2022 The Khadar leyrim for the newly elected Local Government leaders under WangduePhodrang Dzongkhag. The khadhar leyrim for the Mangmis and Tshogpas and awarding of the certificates of election besides administering the oath of allegiance for the newly elected Local Govt leaders under Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag was conducted today. The first sitting of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu for the 3rd Local Govt. was also successfully conducted today. The DT members elected the Thrizin and Dy. Thrizin of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu. Gup Kuenzang Thinley of Gasetshowom was elected as the Thrizin while Nahi Gup Kinley Tenzin was elected as the Dy. Thrizin. The program was delayed due to the pandemic and lockdown situation in the dzongkhag.

13.01.2022 The 55 frontline workers were trained on Donning and Doffing of PPEs... Today on 13th January the Health Sector Dzongkhag Administration, Wangdue trained 55 frontline workers from RBP personals, Desuups, PHPA securities and JP company helpers, they were trained on Donning and doffing of PPEs and also briefed on safety protocols. Those participants will be deployed in various quarantine facilities incase of any emergencies.

12.01.2022 Farmer's Groups and Schools of Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag benefited from the local vegetables supplied under SFP. Out of 11 schools, renewal of vegetable supply to the schools progressed with 10 schools and failed to renew with Taksha Primary School as the farmer’s group was not confident in supplying vegetables to the school due to poor coordination among the group. However, linking took place between Dangchu Primary School and the farmers' group of Dangchu village for vegetable supply. Overall, 11 schools have been linked as of now and decentralized the reviewing and signing agreements from next year among themself. There are 28 schools under Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. After the review, it revealed that the farmers were benefited more than Nu.11.31 million from the vegetables supplied to schools. The representative from the schools shared positive experiences having more convenience to source from the farmers and being able to feed fresh and nutritive vegetables to the students besides of price crunch for locally produced vegetables. Farmer’s representatives were also encouraged to supply vegetables to the schools for being able to feed their children directly or indirectly. The Agriculture Sector has a plan to focus and encourage more linking with potential farmers groups and schools in the coming academic year.

15.03.2022 Million fruit tree planation launched in Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. Million Fruit Tree Plantation under DeSuung National Services launched in Wangdue Phodrang. today. 17 lead Dessups and 75 DeSuunps deployed by the DeSuung Head Office and officials from the Agriculture Sector started planting different types of fruit trees in the district. The programme is noble initiatives of His Majesty the King aiming to bring significant impact in providing nutritional supplements, enhance incomes and uplifting the well-being of the rural communities the Dzongkhang. The Dzongkhag will plant more than 34890 temperate fruit seedlings in March 2022 and 14280 subtropical fruit seedlings in May 2022 benefiting in total 49170 seedling by more than 3336 households and 27 schools in the dzongkhag. Dzongkhag is receiving temperate fruit seedlings such as Apple, Persimmon, Pear, Walnut, Kiwi, Peach, Plum and Almond and Sub-Tropical fruit like Avocado, Dragon fruit, Guava and pomegranate. Agriculture sector under Dzongkhag administration and geog administration is supporting implantation of programme in the field. Agriculture sector is supporting budget for inauguration, transportation of DeSuups and seedling up to the geogs.

15.03.2022 One day cleaning campaign from Sephu to Bajo Throm along the East-West Primary National Highway today. To mark the 114th National Day of Bhutan, the Dzongkhag Administration and Desuups of Wangdue Phodrang (DOWP) carried out one day cleaning campaign from Sephu to Bajo Throm along the East-West Primary National Highway today. The main objective of such an event is to promote Clean, Healthy and to create awareness on waste management to the road users as part of larger waste management program in the Dzongkhag. We convey our sincere thanks to the DOWP and all civil servants of Dzongkhag Administration, Wangdue Phodrang for turning out in large numbers to volunteer for this important activity.
